4/10/22 - 6/10/22

 Week 5 continued...

On Tuesday 4th, we spent the entire morning with makeup students as well as Nina, their teacher, where we went into groups, mixed up with both courses and wrote down our ideas for the tour we were both apart of. The makeup team are so important in our work at the Globe, as they make sure we look like our characters, and that we look ghostly but not enough for the audience to guess the truth about our tour. Lots of ideas were discussed to the entire group and Kelly and Nina, where they wrote down the ideas and gave their feedback on it. I felt like I contributed quite a bit in our group, as I had ideas like having the usherettes have vital roles even though they are background characters where they could observe the audience and stare at them like they are unwanted. I also told the group about having Ivy Close as a marilyn-esque character where she sits at the dressing table, getting ready for a show that is never happening. Millie, who was apart of our discussion group, had an idea of having old 3D glasses on the floor, as they frequently had 3D shows playing on weekends, for example their first 3D show was called House Of Wax, which is where another idea came about, where mannequins could be laying around like it wasn't 3D in the end, it was actually real. The entire lesson was really productive, and both courses went away with amazing ideas as well as a plan for the rest of the week.

On Thursday 6th, we spent all of the afternoon rehearsing and getting our copycat scenes ready and finalised for filming. Some groups were filming the following day, so were completely ready but for my group, we have had quite a few absences from people so we haven't had time to work as a full group. Unfortunately, Alex was off but we made sure to get some work down never the less. We worked on scripts as we all made sure to learn our lines for the lesson, and began blocking the scene. Since we weren't able to work in a forest for the lesson, we worked in the dance studio and practised the hardest section which was the fight scene. It is slowly starting to fit into place, and our scene is looking really good which we are all pleased about. In the lesson, we also visited the costume cupboard and found Emily's elf outfit which was another success along with the Ruffians coats. I tried a dress on but it was way too big and the colour did not match the original dress in the scene, so I decided to just use outfits I have at home instead for the filming day. After our rehearsal for the CopyCat scene, we were told from Kelly about our first assignment that consists of 5 parts, one of which is to write up a blog all about my first term which I'm doing and have been doing for a while now. I'm really excited for the assignment as it will show me the expectations I need to meet, how the real assignment will feel as well as how I can improve before the final assignment.
