Unit 12: Task 1A Project Proposal + Task 1B
Name |
Milly Shield |
Pathway |
Performing and Production Arts – Acting for Stage & Screen. |
Project title |
One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest |
Section 1: Rationale (approx. 100 words) |
|
Throughout my first
11 units, I have grown and developed my skills, such as monologue work, creating
my own script and performing it, working on the production side of theatre,
learning stage combat safely and much more. I have learnt to research
characters to their full extent and how to give their purpose in a
performance a new meaning, which I believe will push my acting further
highlighting my progress. Before starting these units, I was unclear and not confident
in all aspects of performing that I’ve now took on and tried, and I feel more
confident with a fuller skill set going into my new acting venture. |
|
Section 2: Project concept (approx. 200
words) |
|
In our extended
project, I aim to research the play whether that’s by reading it (which I’ve
already done) or researching its main points online. I also aim to research
the specific character I get to portray in the show, and delve deep into
their background and their main purpose to the play. I really like ‘One Flew
Over The Cuckoo’s Nest’ and hope to be apart of it whether that’s production wise,
or acting in it, and I aim to give my best in both aspects of it. Working on
production, my job is fundraising which means raising money for both
productions taking place, and use the money raised to finance clothes, props,
and use any leftover money for our next show. I aim to come up with
fundraising ideas and make sure that they happen and don’t delay, and take
part in any fundraising jobs my peers decide to start. Specifically, with my
acting, I aim to fully research the character I play, and I believe by
watching the film and looking into other re-imaginations of the play and the
role I’ll eventually play, I’ll be able to gather some detailed research to
help me out. I aim to set out to make a clear timetable so that I can achieve
all of this. |
|
Section 3: Evaluation (approx. 50 words) |
|
To reflect on all
my work and make sure it’s recorded, I will keep up with my blog and write
about all decisions and research that takes place. By keeping an up to date
record of my work, I’m able to keep track of my stated aims and set out that
they happen. |
|
Proposed research sources and
bibliography (Harvard format) |
|
Once I know what
character I’ll be playing, I’ll be attaching Harvard referencing to this page
and adding it to this blog page. |

Task 1B - Production Diary
Write a consistent reflective production diary throughout the execution of your chosen performance project - One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.
Throughout my time at college in second year, I have made sure to keep up a consistent diary of every day spent either rehearsing, performing, or researching my characters to show how I've developed my skills, and to look back on my journey here. The diaries are titled under the first and last date of the week. I've wrote specific evaluations about projects I've been apart of titled:
